If you’re a biker, at least once in your life you’ve probably dreamed of riding a motorcycle in Romania. This destination is known as one of the most popular motorcycle spots, both in Europe and beyond. It is most famous for the Transalpina and Transfăgărășan, but that’s just a part of what Romania has to offer bikers. Diverse landscapes, roads winding through dense forests and mountainous regions – this is something every motorcycle enthusiast dreams of. If you love all of this, then this is the perfect tour for you!

Riding along the Danube River on the Romanian side
Vidraru Lake
Transalpina – a national road, 148 km long, located in the Parâng Mountains in the southern Carpathians of Romania. It connects Novaci, in the southern part of the Parâng Mountains, with Sebeș to the north. This is the highest road in Romania, with its highest point at the Urdele Pass (2,145 m).
Transfăgărășan – one of the most famous and impressive mountain roads in Romania and the world. This road passes through the Carpathians, connecting two main regions of Romania, Transylvania and Wallachia. The road is approximately 90 km long and stretches from the town of Curtea de Argeș in the south to Cârțișoara in the north, climbing to a height of 2,042 meters at its highest point – the Bâlea Lac. It was built in the 1970s and 1980s during the Ceaușescu regime, which aimed to strengthen military connections between different regions of the country. Workers faced extremely tough conditions, including cold winters and dangerous cliffs. The road is known for its sharp bends, steep climbs, and winter climate that makes riding challenging. For this reason, it is only open during the summer months (usually from June to October).
Salt Mine – Salina Turda is a unique underground salt mine located near the town of Turda, in central Romania. This is one of the largest and most impressive salt mining sites in the world, which has now been converted into a tourist complex and amusement park. The mine is an impressive historical location that offers visitors both educational and recreational activities.
